Re: Fake noise maker

This was in "Spark EV - An affordable electric racecar" and pulling it out here since it's not relevant to his topic. Just disconnect the noise maker control unit. Super easy to get to. It is on the floor behind the center console next to the accelerator pedal. Where the driver side and passenger s...

Re: 2015 Spark EV 1LT 1200 mi for sale - $15289

Hi there, I'm selling my 3 month old Spark EV. Only 1200 mi. If anyone is interested, please email jpa808@gmail.com or call 3106667977. I am located in Foster City, CA. I loved having this car but unfortunately I am moving to where I won't need a car. I own the car and have the lease in hand. Jason...

Re: Front tire wear, is this normal?

I've 28K on my car and the tires are still about 5K miles from being down to the indicators...they've worn out uniformly too. I'm hoping I don't need to change them before I turn this thing in.

Re: Does rear brake wear quicker?

Brake light function depends on what software you're running. There's a campaign that updates the brake light software (I got this installed recently) and if you're in L and let off the accelerator pedal, the brake light immediately comes on. The old (2014 MY) software didn't flash the light on so ...

Re: Bolt!

Nope, has nothing to do w/how much I like or don't like GM. Just look at their actions that I've already talked about over and over. No actually I do think you don't like GM and that's fine. But what makes you think it's OK for Nissan to dictate everyone's charging standard and leave it up to them?...

Re: Bolt!

I doubt very much a charging standard would slow down any of the EV manufacturers. There's no proof of that other than hearsay. Sure it does. I was at CES just a few weeks ago and happened to be at the Chargepoint booth where someone who knew little about EVs was talking to the reps while standing ...

Re: how to disable the speed limiter

To get the best acceleration you need to get the motor to its peak POWER point, the torque is not very relevant. The peak power point for the Spark EV is at around the motor speed equivalent to ~45mph, with a slight drop off up to ~80mph and a steeper decline beyond that (MY 2014). If you were to c...

Re: how to disable the speed limiter

This car needs a torque converter...like the Zombie 222...showing that EVs can out accelerate most cars too at high speeds if they have more than one gear or a converter. It's already torque limited at low speeds because it has way more torque than the skinny, high efficiency tires can handle. It d...

Re: Request for comment: ICED, Leafed, Leaf*cker

Not sure what you're trying to accomplish. With everything that's going on in the world, this comes across as petty. It seems every time I need to use DCFC for intercity travel, I'm waiting for Leaf. And they always charge slower than 6kW using DCFC (Leafracked) when they could be using L2 instead....

Re: Bolt!

OR even just a Chademo to CCS adapter would be grrrreat! Would double or triple the number of DC rapids chargers we could use. I know, it has been discussed, it is cost-prohibitive, but it is a nice dream. This goes back to the whole point I and others had made over and over before. There seemed to...
