Re: Hood replacement

I did manage to find a replacement hood, but in grey, not the original light opalescent blue. Anyone know if this color might still be available to paint the hood (take it to a Chevy dealer body shop)?

Re: Hood replacement

Not that anyone else is interested, but: I've learned so far that it's difficult to find the right hood in the right color. And shipping will add about $250. Plenty of hoods out there, across the country, ranging from $100-300, in various colors including blue, but rarely specifying EV (which would ...

Re: Hood replacement

Thanks for the reply. I am not sure that the two versions are the same. At any rate the colors aren't, so I'll need to find the hood in the elec version (to match the same light blue).

Hood replacement

Been awhile since I've hung out here, and have overall really been enjoying my SparkEV (bought mine January 1, 2015). Some time back I had a tree limb fall on the hood and dent it some—not so bad that I couldn't live with it for a while. When I first checked, I could find no replacement parts (the r...

$7500 tax credit question

Well, I've been enjoying my Spark EV now for just over a year. Now I'm faced with getting about $4500, maybe less, in fed tax credit. Can anyone confirm that 1) it remains that you must take the credit the same year you purchased the car, and 2) you cannot spread the credit over two years. I ask bec...

Re: how to disable the speed limiter

.... but range would suffer.

Driving much at high speed would also severely impact range as aerodynamic losses go up as the cube of speed.

I think we're pretty much okay with range loss on this topic.

Re: Anyone interested in custom made lowering springs?

Well, not as in OHV, but I work at a nature preserve and some of the roads are dirt (with the usual pitfalls). Not that I have to drive it out there, but just an inch or two more clearance would help navigate them when I do. Looking forward to a cheaper version of the Rav4EV, or others similar.

Re: Anyone interested in custom made lowering springs?

I'd actually be more interested in raising the clearance/suspension, since I'd like to have a bit more off-road ability.

Possible? (asked by an auto neophyte)

Re: tire pressure readings

Thanks for the tips. I'll go to a tire shop and ask if they can compare my digital handheld to a shop gauge. This that should break the tie. If it were off by just a pound, I'd not sweat it, but 4-5 pounds is no bueno.
