Has this happened to anyone else?

The Drivers display in my 2015 Spark EV quit last week. It's not the dimmer, is not the light setting, nothing seem to be able to bring it back. The car was working just fine however, there was no feedback for the turn signals, no speed display and no way to determine what your remaining range was.

I made a dealer appointment for a diagnosis and was quoted the diagnosis price of about $120. This is in WA state so the techs said that they hadn't seen this problem before.

Here's the bill:

I guess that I should thank my lucky stars that it did come back to life and that I wasn't charged more but if the solution is just 'hold down CTRL+ALT+DEL', why mess around for 2hrs!? I asked afterword if they could tell me the method for this Global Reset, but they would not.

Anyone know a GM tech with loose lips?

As far as I know, it's the original battery. I'm surprised but encouraged that this hasn't happened to anyone else. I suppose that is good news.
