Thinking of selling in the new year...

I'm happy to report that I still drive my 2014 Spark EV nearly every day, but now we have a 2021 Bolt that has replaced our CR-V! It feels good being a 100% EV household, but now I'm looking to get something like a used Ioniq 5 to become our main car with the Bolt moving into the Spark's place...

Checking battery on used '14--large discrepancy between guess-o-meter and the calculation method

Measuring battery capacity using the readouts on the infotainment screen is only useful when the car has been charged to 100% and then discharged (ideally to below 50% remaining). It's possible that they had charged (not to 100%) and discharged it once or twice before you drove it, so what...

    Happy Birthday, Little Spark!

My Spark was manufactured (according to the doorsill sticker) in September 2013, so it's over 10 years old now. I've owned it for over 18 months, and it's been great. Every once in a while I think about trading up for a Bolt, but I just love this little car.

Battery warranty advice for 2014 Spark

What matters is the measured battery capacity, not the reported range. For example, my 2014 Spark is showing 44-45 miles of range right now with the super cold weather we've had, and I typically had 65-68 miles of range in the summer and fall. However, I'm still seeing the same usable capacity...

Thinking of selling in the new year...

I thought that might be the case, and of course it makes perfect sense :-).

Thinking of selling in the new year...

Thanks for joining the conversation! I remember reading about an older tax credit on used EVs, and I am pretty sure that one only applied to dealer-sold cars. We'll see what the new year brings :-). One thing about your hilltop situation: have you tried setting a departure time later than you...

Thinking of selling in the new year...

This is a bit premature, but it's on my mind so I figured I'd put it out there. Apologies if this is inappropriate, but it looks like others have posted "FOR SALE" threads in the past at least :-). TL;DR: I'm interested in selling my 2014 Spark EV sometime in the spring for its trade-in value...

Reprogram BMS to use full cell capacity of 2014 LFP pack

I'm very encouraged by your experience, that's for sure! I do wonder whether it's going to level off now that it's seen around 20% degradation or if I have to expect it to continue to slowly get worse. I'm trying to be prepared for an eventuality where the usable capacity is below my needs but...

Reprogram BMS to use full cell capacity of 2014 LFP pack

Okay, I came across this slightly older thread: https://mychevysparkev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9213 And it seems maybe a bulk of the reserved capacity is at the bottom rather than the top (fully charged is 98% actual?). I guess if that's true there isn't much or really anything to "unlock"...

Reprogram BMS to use full cell capacity of 2014 LFP pack

I can create a new topic if it makes more sense, but I figured I'd piggyback off of this old one to start. My questions are in the same vein, and I'm also curious what upgraded cells two20142lts found back in 2021 ;-). I recently purchased a 2014 Spark EV that is running well but has...
