Northeast Saprk EV Testing the Winters

Interesting. My local dealer only had the side stripes. I went to a place that does vinly wraps and they did my stripes for me, for $220.

    q Yeah, i didn't think it was a rumor. Just a dream.

    2016 Spark EV rumours

To me, the obvious major improvement would be a 6.6 Kw charger. It would cut the charging time in half and make those times when you HAD to use Local 2 charging a lot more livable.

    6.6kW effective charging?

Where did you get this app? My OnStar app looks nothing like this - and I'm also on Verizon. Is this an iPhone? I'm on Android. Jellybean.

    2016 Spark EV rumours

I did. Liked it a lot. But too slow and too expensive. I got a great deal on a lease on the Spark EV.

NortBay or EastBay area owners: trade cars for a few days?

Just go to Chevy's website right now and you'll see a bunch of 2016 models. They show the 2016 Volt. The "All-New" 2016 Spark. If there was going to be a 2016 Spark EV, I would have thought they'd mention it. It's already mid-June. Granted, they don't show a 2016 Cruze, either, so... who...

    Chameleon Plasti Dip Spark Ev

No, I went to a local shop and had it done. The hood/roof cost me $210, plus $120 to install the side decals - which cost $79 from GM/Chevy. There's another thread on here where there's a guy that did all of this, too, and had the part #. Yeah, I stole his idea completely. LOL I added the...

Are you intending on doing the whole car? I did black racing stripes in vinyl. They look awesome!

    L2 portable generator charging

Did you swear to never get a mortgage again, to protest the far-bigger bailouts of Wall St? Everybody bounced back - except the middle class, who got screwed. At least with the GM bailout we got the Spark EV - and the Bolt, coming.

NortBay or EastBay area owners: trade cars for a few days?

I'd do it before the CARS are gone. Doesn't look like there'll be any 2016's. By my current estimates, I'm actually making money on the car right now. I've dropped the insurance to the minimal - $20/mo - on my ICE car, and I've put it on hold with the DMV. Non-Operated Vehicle, or whatever...

    List your miles and MPGe

I now have 3600 miles and a lifetime mpge of 132, though that seems off a bit, since I'm always seeing #'s like 143+ for my "Since Full Charge". Thing is I'm putting on a lot more miles than I expected - 1,200/mo. At this rate I'll be going over miles by 30 months. But... the lease is so...

Any stories about being nearly stranded (out of battery)?

I ran out of battery at 11 PM last weekend on the way home. I knew I was pushing it, but I was hoping for some downhill charge to get me what I needed to get home. I also was thinking all along that MAYBE the miles left didn't include a small buffer of a few miles - like you get with a gas...

    DC Charging "Lite"?

One problem is the Spark OBC is only 3.3kWh. Half the rest of all the modern EV's. Serious bummer, as if I'm forced to use 110v house outlet - which is more often than I thought it would be, (my friends all seem to have dryers that are a huge pain to move, if not unreasonable to attempt).

    List your miles and MPGe

Where are you getting that over the last 7,000 miles you're averaging 5.6kWh? I don't have that information on the OnStar app. Is what you see on the dash a lifetime #? I thought it was just since resetting the trip odometer.

    Future Collectible Car

Actually, this makes the case FOR it being collectible. Rarity. Not many will survive because not many were made. I haven't seen a 2016 model appear, yet, on Chevy's home page - yet other 2016 models are all there. As for the battery, well, that might not be an issue at all. The battery...

NortBay or EastBay area owners: trade cars for a few days?

My thinking is that i will pay off the lease when i hit the mileage limit. I think you avoid paying the taxes that way, too, so we're taking $65/mo. Even if i hit it 6 months ahead of time, it's still a free car. And if gas goes up even a little... Problem now is it's hard to find that...

NortBay or EastBay area owners: trade cars for a few days?

I was thinking the same thing, but got a great lease deal of $85/mo, including taxes, with, in essence, $450 down. Even with $360 shipping from SoCal, the car is literally a free car, when you subtract the gas savings. In fact, I will likely make money on the car over the course of 3 years -...

NortBay or EastBay area owners: trade cars for a few days?

I used the Fast Charger at Whole Foods in Berkeley last week and it worked great. No waiting.
