Flat cargo area with seats folded down or no?

The seats don't go down to totally flat, but that doesn't seem to prevent this little car from carrying a lot. I recently bought myself a fairly large rain barrel to make a water reclamation system. As I walked to my car, my first thought was, "Oops, I should have brought the truck." I figured I'd have to have the store hold the barrel for me as I went back and switched vehicles. But no, folded down the seats and in went the barrel.
Also, I don't have to pull the front seats forward or remove the back seat headrests to put the back seats down. Very quick and easy.

In the gas Spark the seat bottom folds forward so the seat backs can fold flat. In the Spark EV the seat bottom is permanently fixed due to the battery pack underneath. That keeps the seat backs from folding flat. I'd guess they lay at about 15-20 degrees.
Chevy claims about 23.4 cu ft of space, down almost 8 cu ft from the gas. Big time hauler? No, but she still holds a lot.

Spark EV with rear seatbacks folded down. I removed the headrests, but it isn't mandatory - they can be raised all the way once the seatback is down. The front-most part of the seat back is about as high as the lip of the rear hatch opening, so it slants up about 1" per foot.
Looking in through the rear hatch of the Spark EV, with the back seats folded down.
