DC fast charging: J1772 CCS vs CHAdeMO vs Supercharger, etc.

The interesting thing to me is the recent addition of a dual standard ABB QC at a Nissan dealer in SLC. See Plugshare. Other than that, Norcal is now showing 18 CCS, and SoCal 33 on Plugshare.

    Researching the Spark EV

Yup. As I said, while it can be done, it's not a practical use for a limited-range BEV at the moment, especially with no en route QCs and only a 3.3 kW OBC. Ask and you shall receive ;) : http://www.autoblog.com/2014/07/30/audi-diesel-plug-in-hybrid-q7/

List of known SAE combo plug quick charge stations

As of 12/15/14, Plugshare is showing 39 CCS locations in California, 17 in Norcal and 22 in SoCal. Other states appear to be unchanged over the past couple of months, but now that the i3 and e-Golf are both available we'll see if that changes.

    Researching the Spark EV

Well, you _could_ drive a Spark up to Yosemite from Fresno, but it's not a very practical use of the car currently; you'd have to stop for an L2 charge enroute, wasting several hours, and you'd probably have to do without heat. A (3.3 kW charger) LEAF owner in Fresno made the trip a few times a...

DC fast charging: J1772 CCS vs CHAdeMO vs Supercharger, etc.

Not that it matters for U.S. J1772/CCS, but ievs.com has the following article: http://insideevs.com/europe-exceed-600-ccs-chargers-installed/ Note that these are CCS-2, not the CCS-1 fitted to U.S. (and apparently Australian) CCS-equipped BEVs. The current U.S. total is approaching 50, but...

List of known SAE combo plug quick charge stations

eVgo seems to be really upping their game, as Plugshare is showing a total of 16 CCS in Norcal, and 18 in Socal. Most but not all of these are eVgo.

    EVs At LA Auto Show

Cooling and air intake. A PEM fuel cell operates at a fairly low temp, and you need larger cooling surfaces to get rid of lower temp air than higher temp air, plus you've got to cool all the electronics which are under the hood. And then you need lots of air intake for the O2 for the fuel...

Totalled Spark EV at George Chevrolet

At least from the damage visible in the pictures, I wouldn't have thought it was totaled.

DC fast charging: J1772 CCS vs CHAdeMO vs Supercharger, etc.

Via ievs.com: http://insideevs.com/crevier-bmw-installs-4-dc-fast-chargers-6-level-2-evses/ Now, the question is what's their charging policy for non-i3s? Are they going to take a 'big tent' approach like Kia, be extremely restrictive, or something in the middle? Anyway, this is the first...

    Fast Charge Stations?

Workplace charging should normally be L2 or L1, not QC, unless you foresee customers frequently driving long distances and staying for short periods of time, or your company just wants to do something for PEVs generally. You can put in several more L2s or a huge number of L1s for the price of a...

    Fast Charge Stations?

Note that the post cwerdna linked to is out of date, as Plugshare corrected the bug that had listed CCS stations under "Public Stations" instead of "High Power Stations". Be sure to select only "High Power Stations" (and "In Use Stations" if you wish,) and after clicking on "More Options" or on...

    Fast Charge Stations?

Leftover 2014 Spark EV - Battery condition & life

Given your more detailed info, you're good to go leasing any of these cars, as you can switch off when needed. But, if you want to maximize your EV commute days, you should be able to charge at/near work. Checking Plugshare's map that shouldn't be a problem; if you don't want to use that L1 at...

List of known SAE combo plug quick charge stations

Yes, I'm looking forward to seeing how the ABB and Efacec dual-standard QCs hold up. The Blinks had both lousy equipment and poor response to out of service equipment, but as I mentioned upthread, at least in the ones closest to me CCGI has done some kind of equipment upgrading that has...

Leftover 2014 Spark EV - Battery condition & life

OBTW, the OP needs at least a 15k mile lease, as commuting 78 miles/day x 5 days times say 48 weeks works out to 18720 miles/year, not counting any driving for errands and such. Be sure to check out the mileage overage charge on whatever lease package you're offered, and see how much that's...

Why is Spark EV sales so poor?

You can go directly to the source for answers: http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/zevprog/zevprog.htm BTW, #4 is yes, and this link, http://www.arb.ca.gov/msprog/zevprog/zevcredits/2013zevcredits.htm has the credit balances up through September 30th, as well as the number of sales by large and...

Leftover 2014 Spark EV - Battery condition & life

Unfortunately, a car that's been sitting on a dealer's lot for some time has likely been left at a high state of charge, as most dealers don't know or don't care that it's bad for the battery to do this. I'm a fan of LiFePO4 over the LiMN2O4 in the 2015's, plus you have the larger battery. It...

Why is Spark EV sales so poor?

Ooh, ooh, I know! Why would they do so, when eVgo is on the hook for 200 QCs here? The Department of Redundancy Department is down the hall ;) I'd much rather see them spend the money where it will do the most good, and at the lowest cost to them. Personally, until considerably longer range...

List of known SAE combo plug quick charge stations

I make it five out of nine QC locations functional (1 broken, 1 reported broken, two failed), or not quite 56%. Not something I'd feel comfortable counting on if I HAD to get somewhere, where I'd want at least two 9's reliability (three 9's or better preferred) plus redundancy.
