    Yes there are, but how many of them are working? Although I've got to say that the local Blink QC and co-located L2s have been much more reliable over the past three months, but I don't know if that is widespread or not.

    Both, really. With a couple of exceptions, CHAdeMOs have all been installed singly. I think there's a dual/dual CHAdeMO/CCS in SoCal somewhere and a few multiples in Europe, but no company other than Tesla has been willing to recognize that multiple QCs per location are far more valuable than...

    Just to be complete, there are also 718 SCs in the U.S., something over 400 CCS-2 in Europe, and 20+ CCS-1 in the U.S. and Canada. There are maybe 5 eVgo CCS-1 or dual mode chargers shown on Plugshare as 'coming soon' in California.

    Sure, smoke's a possibility, that's why the first power up of a new electrical component is called a smoke test. As for AAA, even a Premier membership only gets you a 200 mile tow, and worst case (if your shutdown occurs in the Bay Area) you're looking at something around 500 miles to get home...

    Tony, you're a brave man to be trying this so early in the development cycle, after so few hookups. Are you going to have any backup along in case smoke starts pouring out from under the hood, or everything just goes tilt and shuts down? Someone with a truck, a tow hitch and a flatbed trailer...

    I disagree on the reason for the Volt sales drop off; I believe that's due to the Volt having real nationwide competition, i.e the Ford Energis and the PiP, both of which are advertised. Once the Soul EV and e-Golf are out, assuming they are sold nationally I think we'll see LEAF sales plateau...

    Ar least in the Bay Area, there's a complete lack of advertising for it. The Fiat 500e, which is advertised on the local PBS station (and which is better looking with snazzier color options including orange/white and black with orange accents), was the fourth most common PEV I saw last month...

    Reposting this from MNL to save me typing it twice: All right! The Green Lots/Sun Trail CHAdeMO in Pt. Reyes Station has just had a CCS added. Not sure if they replaced the CHAdeMO only QC, or added an separate CCS. This is one of the most obvious and needed places for QCs in the Bay Area...

    Per Plugshare it appears there are now 21 CCS-1 QCs in the U.S. plus one in Canada (the map shows it in VA, but the address is in Quebec!): CA 8 OR 7 WA 1 AZ 1 CO 1 GA 1 HI 1 VT 1 Edit: CCS in NJ has now disappeared from Plugshare, and I replaced it with the one in Hawaii, which I'd overlooked.
