Battery warranty advice for 2014 Spark

Personally, I would escalate the poor service issue to GM. I would underline that Fairway charged you for the service and did not perform the test. Tell them that you have dash-cam footage that proves it. Request a reimbursement for the testing fee (ask from GM, and tell them it is up to GM to...

DCFC message 'Charging rate limited to 30% at vehicles request'

Not enough info in the original report to help you. ( "g" ?? ) I did have a situation a few months ago where some EA (Electrify America) DCFC chargers would only charge my spark at 16 kW. And it was definitely the charger, as I had charged at a ChargePoint 24 kW charger at 22 kW (low battery...

    Spark Owners Manual

OK, that is some of the worst French I have read in a while. Unless it is Quebecois (which I am not very familiar with). réussir ? that makes no sense. Unless it means something different in Canada. The proper translation would have been "demander" (or, conjugated, "demandent")

    Spark ev catching fire

more gas vehicles catch fire than battery vehicles. but that never makes it into the press.

Slow charging (only about mile range added each hour)

The range is a GUESS by the car's computer of how far you can drive. Look at this picture (I hope it loads) : On the far left is "62 mi" in a blue ball, the car's guess as to the range. Next to that is a 10 bar (green bars) "column" that shows how full the battery is , in 10 increments (each...

    service battery charging system

It might be an intermittent problem with the DC-DC converter (which charges the 12V battery). OR, some component between the DC-DC converter and the 12V is flakey. I would suggest : * having your mechanic check to see if there are any error codes via OBD2 port *going to the dealer and talking...

Adapter / extension cord in one?

And going from NEMA 14-30 (30 amp socket in the wall) to NEMA 14-50 (50 amp plug) generally isn't a good idea. Even if in your particular situation it is safe (your 14-50 plug is connected to a 16-amp EVSE). bad things happen when mismatches are possible. Going from a 50-amp socket to a 30-amp...

Level 1 Charger with 16 amps

The EVSE (what you call a "charger" - the charger is actually in the car) tells the vehicle what it can provide. The Spark pulls what it pulls. The spark will *never* pull more than 12 amps on 120V. NEVER. The max the SparkEV will pull at 240V is 3.3 kW. So buying anything over a 16A 240V...

"Propulsion Power Is Reduced" + "Service Vehicle Soon," 12V Battery is New

A wrench to undo the bolts, take out old battery, put in new, screw bolts back on. BUT - you already paid for a battery from AAA. *THEY* should fix it. Call them and tell them the exact type of battery you need.

"Propulsion Power Is Reduced" + "Service Vehicle Soon," 12V Battery is New

8.5 V is "dead battery" - as in completely useless. Talk to your neighbors and see if anybody has a battery charger that you can borrow for a day.

"Propulsion Power Is Reduced" + "Service Vehicle Soon," 12V Battery is New

12.22 Volts is low , about 50% - full charge it should be around 12.6V . I wouldn't think that 12.22V would cause a problem, but to be sure I would trickle charge the 12V battery overnight.

Battery Degradation vs Battery Limited Warranty

Frankly, I would drive it until it either (1) no longer met my needs, OR (2) was obviously well below the guaranteed capacity. i.e, not 59.7% but at {say} 55%. Or both. The longer you wait, the longer you will have a higher capacity batter y when they "fix" it. I believe that they are NOT...

So, what ever happened with this ? Any resolution?

Battery Degradation vs Battery Limited Warranty

PS: you can probably find a used Bolt with less than 35k miles near Portland for around $12k-$14k or so. Even with battery degradation (which is much less than on a Spark, maybe 5-10% after 3-4 years) you will have over 200 miles (summer) and over 150 miles (winter) of range. And it should last...

Battery Degradation vs Battery Limited Warranty

Concerning Dealer fees : they will try to kill you with fees , putting more money in their pocket. look at the sticker to see if there is both a destination charge as well as a delivery charge. If there is, tell the dealer you aren't paying the delivery charge, because it's nonsense. The...
