Where do we all live? Sparks are dispersing.

I know that the Bolt (yes, different vehicle) will run battery conditioning when the car is not plugged in but only when battery is over 40% . (The "keep battery warm/cold" is also much less aggressive, not warming or cooling it as much when not plugged in.) So, has anybody here measured...

Where do we all live? Sparks are dispersing.

I believe that the vehicle keeps the battery above a certain temp ( ? 2C = 36F ? ) if not plugged in, but if plugged in it will warm the battery to a higher temp. But what I don't remember now is if the vehicle warms the battery *during* the charge, or only after a full charge is *finished*, or...

Where do we all live? Sparks are dispersing.

I was recommending the opposite : during the winter, leave it plugged in overnight so that the battery warmer will keep the battery ... warmer.

    No Heat!

    And check the fuses !!

Where do we all live? Sparks are dispersing.

Living in the frigid north, I would recommend leaving it plugged in overnight during the cold months so that the batteries don't drop below 0 C (cold months, are those Aug-May up in Ontario?).

    battery range and cold weather

If I think I am going to want to heat or cool the inside of the car when I leave, I set the HVAC to what I want the car to be, TO BE SURE. That ay, the heat/cool is pulled from the wall instead of the battery (at least partially).

    battery range and cold weather

Yes, reading the manual. From page 1-5 : Activating Remote Start 1. Aim the RKE transmitter at the vehicle. 2. Press and release {{lock}}. 3. Immediately, press and hold {{remote start}} for at least four seconds or until the turn signal lamps flash. After entering the vehicle during a remote...

    battery range and cold weather

If you are plugged in using a 240V L2 EVSE (so, 3.3 kW), preconditioning for 15 mins before leaving will also warm up the inside of the vehicle AND the heater coils, while pulling a lot of energy from the wall instead of the battery. I have found that the heater takes more energy the first 5-10...

    Original Floor Mats

Won't generic Spark (ICE) floor mats fit? Can't you just go to a "pick N pull" (car wrecker's) and buy mats?

    Questions and Data tracking

Shamelessly stolen from another forum : So, I suggest that people collecting data on their EV batteries (with Torque Pro or similar) also start recording the cell temperature when the reading was taken.

    Electrify America Charging Station Problems

If this is "Nissan World of Red Bank", it isn't an Electrify America site, so I am a bit confused. Did you get the link wrong?

    Spark EV 12 volt battery

I suggest that tonight you plug your brand new smart trickle charger onto your new battery, and let it fully saturate charge your new battery overnight - just unplug it in the morning (the charger is smart enough to stop charging when the battery is full).

My 2015 Spark will not take a charge

That *might* be covered under the 100K mile/8 year warranty - you might be able to get it fixed for free. *I* think that the charging circuitry should be considered part of the "battery system" and its warranty !!!

    Spark EV 12 volt battery

You definitely need a new battery - it looks as if one of your cells is completely shot (only 5 cells @ 2V are still OK, instead of the 6 it should have). The CTEK that I have starts with a "desulphation" test, and (on my batteries) generally skips it (as not needed). MrDrMorgan has a unit...

    Spark EV 12 volt battery

Have you tried simply charging the battery with an AGM-safe battery charger? Charge it to full, let it sit overnight, and then check the voltage the next morning - WITHOUT opening the door or turning the car on or plugging in the charging cable. (pop the hood from inside the night before). If...

My 2015 Spark will not take a charge

I agree w/ DrMorgan - try with another EVSE. But first, check the voltage on the battery (with car OFF and NOT plugged in). Voltage should be around 12.6V if fully charged. If under 12.2V, the battery may be bad (or it simply got drained). Borrow an AGM-safe battery charger and fully charge the...

    Spark EV 12 volt battery

As you have found out, the Spark EV (and just about every EV) won't run without a working 12V battery - it powers all the computers. First step is to borrow a 12V battery charger from a neighbour. It has to be "AGM-safe" (the battery in the Spark is AGM, and it can't be charged over 14.6V or so...

    Electrify America Charging Station Problems

Well, if you are in Calif, you be waiting a while. A *bunch* of stations all over the state are all ready to go, except for the installs of the transformers, which PG&E has to do and they have been dragging their feet for about 6 months now. Once PG&E installs the trasformers, it'll be "test...
