    Spark EV Charger Compatibly

Blink DC Fast Chargers around Minneapolis Metro area seem to not work with my 2015 Spark. I took my spark to MSP airport on Nov 1st with temps in the 30s in the early morning. It was a 45 mile trip so i figured i might have to charge on the way since that would have been close to max range...

    The Spark Saga (final)

That sucks. Real bummer. Did you notice any indication of the battery performance decreasing over the last few weeks leading up to this? I keep an eye on my min/max cell voltages but not sure if that is enough. This was the one hesitation that i had of purchasing mine about two months...

Is the Spark's trunk too small?

Well, not sure how to tell you this, but she's right, I'm sorry. The trunk is pretty small. So if you have to shuttle kids around in it, it might be tough to make it work. Otherwise, the rear seats fold down and give you plenty of space for most daily activity. I typically buy 4-6 50lbs...

Is the Chevy Spark EV one of the most economical electric vehicles out there?

Must be nice. But to me $20k is prohibitively expensive as price of entry. My last 4 cars combined didn't cost that much. $5500 for a commuter vehicle these days is pretty good in itself but no other vehicle will offset the purchase price like this one. It's a bit of a gamble with the...

Is the Chevy Spark EV one of the most economical electric vehicles out there?

I figured it was that one just wanted to leave expletive's out of this thread. New hires in my group will get the FNG plaque passed to them in a ceremonial fashion. Gotta keep it interesting.

Is the Chevy Spark EV one of the most economical electric vehicles out there?

FNG? Fun New Guy? Or something else? I agree with your statement but i still think as for miles/kWh driven, these cars have to be close to the top of the field even by todays standards. The spark was the most economical vehicle i could find that would actually do the 52 mile round trip for...

Anyone Know How to Remove 2015/2016 Spark EV Rear Headrests?

You need to push both bottons in as you pull up on the head rest. You also won't have enough clearance to get it out, so yo need to unlock the seat back and fold it forward.

Questions on EngineLink and using custom PIDs

I finally got the LELink adapter and downloaded EngineLink for Iphones. Seems to work pretty good and i found a csv of the chevy bolt PIDs by Sean Graham. I messed around with different objects but i am having some trouble with some of them not updating properly. Max and Min Cell V -- i...

Anybody here with experience in Extreme Cold (-20F)

I have been experimenting with this and it seems to be very difficult to hit 80%. I'm typically between 75-85%, but most of the time i end up on the high end still. On L2, i set departure time to 1 1/2 hrs past and seems to work out OK. This morning i got out there with 50 minutes left and i...

Anybody here with experience in Extreme Cold (-20F)

Thanks, that's encouraging. There is a couple free L2 charging stations at a Goodwill just a few miles from my work, so i can always stop there and pre-heat the car a little further. Some of my co-workers/friends are already laughing at my "range anxiety" but i wouldn't even call it that...

Effects of Fast charging and efficiency (miles/kwH)

Ok, so i think it probably has to do with the battery management system drawing some power after fast charging. I had another adventure over the weekend that took me on a 105 miles round trip, spread out over 6 hours, so lot’s of stops and running around stores in between. I used the fast...

Anybody here with experience in Extreme Cold (-20F)

I'm still pretty new to this EV thing. Just got my 2015 Spark 3 weeks ago here in Minnesota (MPLS/ST Paul area) with 57k miles on it. Battery appears to have 15kWh left on it. The car was brought to MN in 2020 from CA. I live in rural MN and commute every day to the city, about 26 miles...

[Article] Partially Reverse Battery Degradation in NMC Li-ion Batteries

I realize this is an older post but someone just pointed me to this. Just curious if anyone has actually tried to implement this strategy and what if any results they have seen. If i understand the above correctly (unfortunately the article didn't seem to offer much more detail either), you...

Effects of Fast charging and efficiency (miles/kwH)

Thanks for all the great info. My driving style is more akin to Grandpa Jo than Michael Schumacher. The trip from the Fast Charger to Work was all city roads, no highway and I'm pretty easy on the accelerator for the most part. Still figuring out how to get the most out of information...

Effects of Fast charging and efficiency (miles/kwH)

i ended up charging on a L1 - 12A charger at work for a few hours and then taking a 58 mile round trip. I fully expected having to charge on the way back but managed with just around 2 bars left showing 13 miles on the range estimator. What is strange is that this was mostly highway driving...

Effects of Fast charging and efficiency (miles/kwH)

I just bought a 2015 Spark EV with about 50k miles on it. So far I'm pretty happy with it but this morning i used a DC fast charger (Charge Point) for the first time on my way into work. I started the day at about 9 bars on the battery gauge with 64 miles of range (middle number of the 3...
