I’m the new owner of a 2015 Spark EV and I have noticed a heavy thunk/clunk occasionally when accelerating. Is it just the way I am driving or should I find a mechanic?

I’m the new owner of a 2015 Spark EV and I have noticed a heavy thunk/clunk occasionally when accelerating. Is it just the way I am driving or should I find a mechanic?

A few things can cause that. I had a thunk on acceleration that I was convinced was an engine mount, so I was ignoring it. Then while swapping wheels I realized it was a ball joint. Cheap part, slightly annoying to change.
But an engine mount or a CV shaft are other possibilities. Absolutely worth paying attention to, and having someone look at it when you can.
