I contacted a couple dealers in NorCal but they have never heard of this.

No clue... it ain't in MD! All of the dealers here claim there are no promotions on their electric vehicle leases, besides the state and federal tax breaks that the dealer takes off the price.

MD is a horrible place to lease a car.

The part that kills the deal is the $1400 sales tax that gets added to the capitalized cost, making your monthly payment $40 higher than Oregon and $30-35 higher than California. California taxes the monthly payments, Oregon has no sales tax, Maryland taxes the whole car.

yeah, and if you buy the car at the end of the lease they tax it again.

OTOH they have a nice rebate of the sales tax for Sparks.

True, with SparkEV it's hard to complain about the $1400 tax on the lease and $700 tax on the purchase 3 years later when they give you a $2300 excise tax refund.

Best I can find around here is $1400 down, $93/month. Not too bad. Might pull the trigger finally.
