Yeah, that's what "pre-conditioning" is for - running the heater for 10 minutes before you get in the car to leave.

(If it's a charging issue, it's possible to buy a "J1772 extension cable" which will allow a car outside to charge )it adds ~20 feet to the cable). Then, just plug in YOUR Spark 10 minutes before leaving, and pre-condition. (Then plug the other car back in, if needed).

That's a good idea. However, my 2015 Spark EV is leased and will be going back at the end of May. Then it will be back to just two Spark EVs in the garage. Thanks for including the link to the J1772 extension cables.

I didn't include any links to extension cables because (1) I figured that anybody participating on an internet forum knows about google, and (2) there are quite a few, I can't really recommend any.
But OK, here are a few quick links (20 seconds spent on google, 4 minutes cut&pasting, and typing) :
The above cable is from the people that sell the Tesla L2 plug <-> J1772 adapter ( JDapter ) : http://shop.quickchargepower.com/JDapter-Stub-Tesla-Charge-Station-Adaptor-JDPTRSTB.htm
- above cable is also available on amazon : https://www.amazon.com/JLONG-20ft-J1772-extension-cable/dp/B0767QWHXQ/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1513018197&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=j1772+extension+cable&psc=1
- or you could buy one from eMotorWerks : https://emotorwerks.com/store/accessories/j1772-extension-50a-20-foot-cable-for-our-juicebox-or-any-level-2-charging-station
- or from EV Gear : https://www.amazon.com/EV-Extension-Gear-Compatible-J1772-2009/dp/B074W1P3JD/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1513018197&sr=8-2&keywords=j1772+extension+cable
- another extension (this one 32A) : https://www.jpson.com/product/j1772-extension-cord-socket-to-plug-32a-for-electric-vehicle-ev-charging_p1058.html
Or you could just build one yourself, as Tony Williams describes : https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/how-to-make-a-30-amp-j1772-extension-cord-for-public-charging.21714/
Edit: Oh, an extension cable can be very useful if you depend on public charging as you will often be able to charge at L2 stations that have been "ICEd" if you can park within 25-35 feet or so of the station.
SparkE said:That wasn't me - that was the forum software. It took you to the results of a search for "J1772" on amazon (i.e., generating revenue for the site).
Just like words in this sentence will be underlined (automatically turned into links by the forum software) : leaf on a tree, Nikola Tesla, and EVSE ...
