The Kumho's in these sizes have a $100 rebate until June 30th at Tire Rack.
But they are 'ultra high performance all seasons' and not Low Rolling Resistance tires.
Sounds like fun to me! This car with more traction will probably be faster than with the stock tires.
Of course your range will be less, but if you never get close to running low, who cares? Electrons are a cheap way to roll!

Interestingly, my CarMax "Import to Colorado" car had toasted original tires at 10k and I just got it back today after they bought me a set of these tires, a BRAND new GM 120v charger (as the one that came with it was beat to hell) and fixed a non-op rear wiper squirter. CarMax did me right with this man...LOVE these tires already!

Funny ! That means someone was really enjoying that little EV Hotrod.

So you bought it used? With how many miles? Did you get to keep the original EVSE? I didn't know carmax worked on cars. I thought it was some big chain used car lot....

It had 10,200 miles on it - I suspect previous owner was driving in L all the time as has been speculated here... and yes, CarMax has typically quite large service departments - they offer a 30 day basically bumper to bumper warranty on their cars. I did keep the original abused and broken EVSE, put the new one in the trunk for emergency use :D

I don't get the 'driving in L' part.
Is it thought that 'driving in L' could mean more herky-jerky Regen deceleration?
You can get the exact same amount of Regen using the Brake Pedal in D. Regen from the front tires only.
It's the amount of regen that is in question. Do you come to stops smoothly or at the max regen rate? Either can be done in either D or L.

Same thing with Sport Mode. There is no added power. It's all how the right foot handles power and regen.

I think the rapid front tire wear is a symptom of leadfoot disease.
There's a 2014 car review on youtube, in which the female tester laid a pair of foot long black marks on the pavement at every standing start. Drive like that and the tires won't last.

OTOH, I saw a used car with original Bridgestones at 15k with 6/32 tread on the front, presumably driven gently.
