Flat towing a Spark EV ?

No it cannot be flat towed, see the section on towing starting on page 10-59 in the manual for further details.

Chevy won't sell Spark EV's here for another few months. I can't open the glove box and read the manual.

Here's a diagram of the Spark EV 1ET35 Transmission,

I can't quite understand why towing with the gears turning would cause any damage, except maybe lubrication and cooling functions depend on the car being "on" and driven.
