I’m running into some challenges with my 2015 Spark EV’s brakes and could use some advice. After hitting 66k miles, I decided to do a full brake fluid flush. Previously, I did a quick bleed back in 2019 after a minor fluid leak but figured now was a good time for a more thorough bleed.
I initially tried the old-school two-person bleed method, but unfortunately, that led to a Stabilitrak error, MIL light, and code C12E9. I read that this model needs a pressure-bleeder at 30 PSI for optimal results, so I picked up a Motive Pressure Bleeder. I followed the "Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure)" and "ABS Automated Bleed" steps several times but still ended up with a mushy brake feel in the first inch or so of pedal travel.
Has anyone dealt with this issue on the Spark EV? Should I keep running the ABS and hydraulic bleed processes or focus on one of them? I’m worried about damaging something if I drive it like this and would really appreciate any tips or insights!
